Certificate Course in Neurological Rehabilitation

Course Aims and Objectives

The course will be based primarily in Newcastle upon Tyne. It will comprise a series of lectures, discussions, seminars, workshops and visits to specialist centres. There will also be a written component which will be assessed.

The aim of the course will be to enable participants to gain understanding and knowledge of the function and process of neurological rehabilitation through comprehensive coverage of issues relevant to disability and rehabilitation. in particular, the certificate course offers teaching in the management of specific disabilities and impairments and consideration of models of rehabilitation service delivery.

Participants are encouraged to develop a mutually supportive group involved in working cooperatively and learning from each other.

Registration and Fees

The Certificate Course will cost £2,900. A registration fee of £500 must be received by 31 March 2001. This fee is non-refundable and the remainder of £2,400 is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the course. All funds must be paid n pounds sterling.

This cost includes the attendance of the 3 week certificate course, visits to specialist centres, all course materials, accommodation and all meals.

Accommodation will be provided in single (not ensuite) rooms in the University Halls of Residence. Alternative accommodation can be arranged on request.

A maximum of 20 places are available so please be sure to book promptly to avoid disappointment.
